1. I have examined the accompanying Ordinance intituled an Ordinance for promoting the revision of the Ordinances of Hong Kong.

2. A Print of the Memorandum of Objects and Reasons of the Bill for this Ordinance is attached.

3. Ordinances of this nature are usual in connexion with the periodical preparation of Revised Editions of the Ordinances. Compare Ordinance No. 5 of 1924, and Ordinances Nos. 49, 50 and 51 of 1911. Morcover this is one of the Ordinances prepared by the Editor of the Revision and authorised by section 6 of Ordinance No. 51 of 1936.

4. I am of opinion that this Ordinance is not contrary to the Governor's instructions and that it is one to which His Excellency may properly assent in the name of His Majesty and on his behalf.
